Alongside the departure of NCAA's all-time leading scorer Caitlin Clark to the pros, head coach Lisa Bluder has also announced her retirement after four decades of coaching.

"There is never an ideal time to retire and I am sure this fall that I will miss the games, the practices, the road trips, the atmosphere, the tremendous fans and, most importantly, the players," the 63-year-old tactician said in a lengthy statement.

Bluder has led the Hawkeyes since 2000, guiding them to the last two NCAA national title games.

She has had an impressive tenure in Iowa City, boasting 889 wins, five Big Ten Tournament championships, and two Big Ten regular season titles, among many other accolades.
