The New York Knicks have squandered their strong start in their Eastern Conference Semifinals series against the Indiana Pacers after losing Game 4, 121-89, at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Sunday, May 12.

The Pacers have now tied the series at two apiece after the Knicks won the first two games at home, with several key Knicks players going down with various injuries.

However, Knicks star Jalen Brunson refused to use their lack of healthy personnel and the Pacers' depth as an excuse as they move forward in the series.

"Yeah, we're short-handed but that doesn't matter right now. We have what we have and we need to go forward with that. There is no 'we're short-handed.' There's no excuse. There's no excuse whatsoever," the 26-year-old told the media during the post-game press conference.

The Knicks missed forward OG Anunoby due to a left hamstring strain in both their Game 3 and 4 losses, and they are also without Julius Randle, Mitchell Robinson, and Bojan Bogdanovic for the rest of the postseason run with season-ending injuries.

Jalen Brunson may have picked up another injury

Brunson himself was hobbling after a play in the first half where Pacers wing Aaron Nesmith stepped on his left foot.

The 2024 NBA All-Star was not his usual self during the evening, scoring 18 points on 6-of-17 shooting from the field and struggling from deep on 0-of-5 shooting.

He also added three rebounds, five assists, and two steals in more than 30 minutes of play.
