The Minnesota Timberwolves are, unfortunately, adding a vital member of the team to their injured list, but it won't be a player.
Head coach Chris Finch collided with his point guard, Mike Conley Jr., in the latter stages of Game 4 against the Phoenix Suns, which they won 122-116 last Sunday, April 28, at the Footprint Center to complete a sweep.
Due to the incident, the 54-year-old tactician is feared to have a torn patellar tendon in his right knee, according to league insider Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Finch grimaced in pain after the collision, clutching his right knee. Members of the coaching staff assisted him as he made his way back to the locker room for evaluation.
Assistant coach Micah Nori took over head coaching duties for the Wolves for the final 1:41 of the game.

Chris Finch is finalist for the Coach of the Year award
In his third full season with the Timberwolves, Finch has overseen a remarkable turnaround in the 2023-24 NBA season.
Under his guidance, the Timberwolves secured the third seed in the Western Conference and clinched their first playoff series victory in two decades.
Finch's achievements earned him a place among the three finalists for the 2024 NBA Coach of the Year award, alongside Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault and Orlando Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley, ultimately won by Daigneault.
