San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama has only just begun to tap into his potential in the NBA despite an impressive and highly anticipated rookie season.

The 7-foot-4 giant spoke to the French media, who covered him all year long in San Antonio, during the team's last regular-season game against the Detroit Pistons at home on Sunday, April 14. Wembanyama did not participate in the game.

Wembanyama hinted that his rookie season was just the beginning of showcasing his talent level and suggested that it should continue to rise.

"I would say that I am currently at 15% between my first NBA game and what I hope will be my prime," the 20-year-old said.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest prospects ever, the Frenchman has played 71 games this season, averaging 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.2 steals, and 3.6 blocks while shooting 46.5 percent from the field and 32.5 percent from distance.

The Spurs big man swatted 254 shots this season, and he is expected to win the Rookie of the Year award over Oklahoma City Thunder center Chet Holmgren amid a heated race.
