2024 NFL Draft Profile: Amarius Mims

Amarius Mims is projected to be one of the top offensive tackles taken in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Mims was a highly touted prospect who was recruited by schools like Alabama, Florida State, Florida, Oregon, Penn State, and LSU before committing to Georgia.

During his time with the Bulldogs, Mims has played in 30 games, totaling 803 snaps at the proper tackle position.

He overall performed well in the NFL Combine, where despite injuring his hamstring on the 40-yard dash, Amarius Mims showcased his massive size and explosive traits in front of several NFL players.

Throughout the College Football season, his large frame and size made him a handful for any defensive player to get to his quarterback Carson Beck, as according to PFF Mims only allowed one pressure and zero sacks in the games he has started in.

Amarius Mims suffered an ankle injury during his final year with Georgia, as the 2023 season was an injury riddled season for the Bulldogs.

Still, coming into the 2024 NFL Draft, Amarius Mims could be a plus for any team looking to bolster their offensive line.

Teams needing to strengthen their offensive line would definitely benefit from drafting Amarius Mims, based on his skills, potential, and size.

The New York Jets, a team with weaknesses across its offensive line, could benefit from a youthful upgrade to protect Aaron Rodgers when he returns. Mims could sit behind Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses, learning from two veteran tackles, and provide the Jets with some much needed o-line depth.

The New Orleans Saints could likely go offensive tackle this year with their first round pick. According to PFF, the Saints were ranked 25th in pass blocking and run blocking this past NFL season; and Amarius Mims could definitely be a starting point in reinforcing their offensive line.
