Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins seems poised to test out free agency.
The Vikings and Cousins reportedly have two weeks (until March 13) to work out a deal; if not, the veteran quarterback becomes a free agent.
Cousins spent six seasons in Minnesota, signing with the Vikings in 2017. During his time in Minnesota, he has helped lead them to the playoffs twice.
The quarterback tore his Achilles during week 8 in a matchup against the Green Bay Packers. Cousins sat out the rest of the 2023 season, ahead of a big off-season for him in free agency.
Despite coming back from an injury, some teams would still love to take a flier on Cousins.

Kirk Cousins Free Agency: Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons could be a likely destination for the Cousins during free agency.
The Falcons, who finished 7-10 last season, are likely looking for an upgrade from second year quarterback Desmond Ridder.
Atlanta is home to so many young playmakers, including running back Bijan Robinson, tight end Kyle Pitts, and receiver Drake London. The offensive line is also stout, finishing second in pass-blocking efficiency last season, according to Pro Football Focus.
The Falcons recently made a head coaching change, signing Raheem Morris in January.
Morris stated that Atlanta is ready to compete and that all his team needs is the right quarterback.
"Go out there and find out who's going to be the trigger man for us and put ourselves in a position to win," Morris said on February 27 at the NFL combine, per ESPN.
"And I'm not afraid to say that we have the ability, and we are capable to go out there and win next year if we do some of the right things, some of the right moves, we can do that."
Adding a veteran quarterback like Cousins can potentially make the Falcons the favorite to win the NFC South.
Kirk Cousin Free Agency: New England Patriots
Although there are reports that the Patriots are likely favoring Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield over Kirk Cousins, one shouldn't rule out the possibility of New England making an offer for the veteran quarterback.
Kirk Cousins could serve as a stop-gap for whichever young quarterback they intend on taking in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Cousins can also come in as a serviceable backup for their rookie if they prefer to start the rookie instead.
The Patriots went 4-13 last season, seeing a decline in play from Mac Jones, who only had ten touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
Bringing in Cousins would definitely be an upgrade over Jones.
Kirk Cousins Free Agency: Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers may go in a different direction at quarterback after a disappointing second season from Kenny Pickett.
Pickett regressed mightily last season as well as struggled to stay on the field, being limited to 12 games last season; having dealt with nagging injuries throughout the season. In games played, his QBR has regressed, going from 53.6 to 38.1.
The Steelers have a roster, especially on defense, that could easily compete for the Super Bowl and adding Cousins could potentially put them over the top.
