Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs is not exactly having a good start to his NBA career. He is under immense pressure to deliver, although the 7-foot-4 rookie cannot do it alone.

One player who can relate is Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers. There were big expectations when he entered the league in 2012 after he was made the top pick by the New Orleans Pelicans that season.

Hence, if there is anybody who can give some encouragement to the 19-year-old French player, it would have to be Davis. "The Brow" gave Wemby some sound advice when he spoke at a postgame press conference.

"You've just got to go in and just play, find your way," Davis said. "You're going to have ups and downs in the season. Obviously, he's an exceptional talent. But don't stress yourself out over the pressure from everyone else... You've got to know what your team wants from you. And don't think that you have to turn the franchise around in one year."

Wembanyama is in good hands

Despite his struggles, Wembanyama is someone who will eventually figure it out. He just needs to get acclimatized to the NBA kind of play.

Davis points out he is in good hands under Spurs coach Gregg Popovich via the Los Angeles Times. However, Wemby needs to man up when he gets scolded. Although he is a budding star, he is not excluded from scoldings from coach Pop, SI.com reported.

"He's got probably the best coach to ever do it over there with him to help him do all that. To be in his ear. Just, it's tough," Davis added. "Obviously, a lot of pressure. Everyone is locking on you, whether it's the media or other players coming in that you're facing. Pressure on you to perform well from the outside."
