Is Aaron Rodgers returning to quarterback the New York Jets on December 20? What lies ahead for Zach Wilson?

These are questions in the air right now for the Jets, and fans are seeking answers. Jets coach Robert Saleh is the best person to set the records straight, although his response to the cases of Rodgers and Wilson may not be what most want to hear.

Aaron Rodgers return

As to Rodgers, Saleh said he does not know as far as claims that the four-time NFL MVP will be back in action by December 20 - the day when the Jets need to decide on whether to activate or shut him down for the 2023-24 season, TMZ Sports reported.

"If that's something that he's had with his personal doctor, out in [Los Angeles], I'm not privy to that yet," Saleh said to Ben Krimmel of SNY.

After suffering a torn Achilles in his first game with the New York Jets, most ruled the 10-time Pro Bowler out for the season. However, Rodgers hinted that he was recovering faster than expected, a reason he could make a return this NFL season even though critics feel otherwise.

Saleh on Wilson's status

With regards to the Zach Wilson trade rumors, Saleh played it safe and deflected the matter to upper management.

"As far as all that other stuff is concerned, those are things I'll leave for [Jets general manager Joe Douglas]," Saleh stated.

With the Jets' QB problems far from resolved, Wilson is Saleh's best card right now. Tim Boyle had his chance but failed to impress. The team's third QB is NFL veteran Trevor Siemian, who may be the player who makes sense as the Jets' starting play-caller, although this will be up to Saleh, SI.com reported.
