The New York Jets face the Los Angeles Chargers in a Week 9 Monday Night Football clash, hoping to get their second-straight win against a team that has racked up three consecutive victories.

The Jets vs. Chargers game should be interesting, with two teams targeting another win. New York bagged its third-straight win, an overtime victory at the expense of the New York Giants, 13-10, last Sunday, October 29.

It was also on the same day that the Los Angeles Chargers snagged a much-needed 30-13 win over the Chicago Bears in Week 8 action.

With two teams on a collision course and looking for another win, it all boils down to the hungrier team.

Jets vs. Chargers Week 9 Odds

Although the Jets are on a roll with three straight wins, it may take more effort to register their fourth win against the Chargers.

The Los Angeles Chargers are favorites to prevail over the Jets with a spread of -3.5. The money line for this matchup is -185 for the Chargers and +150 for the Jets, per USA Today.

Jets vs. Chargers Week 9 Preview

After facing lighter opponents the last time out, the Jets and the Chargers know that their Week 9 clash will be a tough one.

For their part, the Jets are aware that the Chargers are slowly getting back into the groove of things. The numbers of Los Angeles thus far can attest to that.

After dropping their first two games of the season, where they were favored to win, the Chargers' yards per game have significantly improved to 362.4. Comparing that to the Jets' 273.3 yards, it is an area that should concern Robert Saleh.

Also critical is the quarterback performance of each team. The Chargers' QB Justin Herbert has been playing better lately, completing 68.8% of his passes in the past two weeks.

For his part, Jets QB Zach Wilson only has a 47.2% pass-completion rate to show, meaning the no. 2 pick of the 2021 NFL Draft needs to push himself more for the Jets to defy the odds.

Jets vs. Chargers Week 9 Pick

The Jets easily have the most talented players on their roster compared to the Chargers. Although favored, an upset by the Chargers cannot be discounted, per Forbes.

Hence, the Jets vs. Chargers clash will likely go down the wire. But this is on the premise that both teams can play fluidly.

All that hinges on the shoulders of Wilson and Herbert. The quarterback who performs better will likely lead his team to victory.
