The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face the Buffalo Bills in Week 8 action, with most wondering about the playing status of quarterback Baker Mayfield.

The 28-year-old play-caller was a non-participant last Monday during team practice due to a knee injury. But heading into Thursday's game, Mayfield provided the real score on his injury status, NBC Sports reported.

"Yesterday it was pretty sore," Mayfield said. "Less than 24 hours after the game, that's kinda how it always goes. Just re-aggravated what I had against the Saints. Nothing too bad, just pain tolerance and move on."

In the Buccaneers' lopsided loss to the Detroit Lions, Mayfield was noticeably not his usual self. The 2017 Heisman Trophy winner has been struggling lately and has thrown four touchdowns and three interceptions in Tampa Bay's last three games, SI.com reported.

No less than Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles is aware of their offensive struggles and admits that adjustments have to be made.

"They're not all Baker. As an offense, we've got to get better as a team. We've got to get better. We started out hot, people start picking up on things, and you have to adjust on some things," the 59-year-old coach stated.

Mayfield is just one of many players who are dealing with injuries. Others include wide receiver Chris Goodwin, left guard Matt Fieler, defensive tackle Vita Vea, and safety Kaevon Merriweather.

Heading into the Bills vs. Buccaneers Week 8 clash, Buffalo is favored to prevail over Tampa Bay per USA Today.
