Kai Jones partially got his wish of bolting the Charlotte Hornets. Instead of being traded to another NBA team, the 22-year-old was waived by the NBA club, per reports.
Jones was officially let go on Wednesday, October 11, by the Hornets after requesting a trade from the organization, ESPN reported. It didn't take long for the 6-foot-11 cager to respond to this development.
His reaction was another of the weird behaviors he has been showing lately.
Last month, concerns were raised about the former Texas Longhorn player after he was seen sweating profusely and speaking rapidly, making it difficult for his words to be understood, the New York Post reported.
Regardless, the 22-year-old denied he was under the influence at the time.
"I was not on drugs or intoxicated I was enjoying my night in my crib y'all bugging #GOATLIFE," he tweeted in defense of his behavior.
Is Kai Jones a GOAT?
Kai Jones has also been boasting that he is better than some of the good players in the NBA. That list includes LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller.
And Jones bragged that his talents are aligned with greats such as LeBron James and Shaquille O'Neal, per CBS Sports.
However, his production does not support his claims.
Kai Jones' future not looking good
Last NBA season alone, Kai Jones managed only 2.7 points and two rebounds in 9.1 minutes of action.
Given that performance and his current tirades, it will be interesting if Jones gets another chance with another NBA team.
