Adam Wainwright's MLB career is winding down, yet the 42-year-old still managed to add another feather to his cap. This, after the three-time All-Star collected his 200th win after the St. Louis Cardinals edged the Milwaukee Brewers, 1-0, on Monday.

"For at least a night I was a real pitcher out there, the guy that I want to be," Wainwright, who plans to retire after the season, stated in a report by ESPN. "Seven innings, shutout, a couple of hits, got through a couple of tough ABs out there and made adjustments, worked in and out, up and down."

Wainwright was stuck on 198 wins for the past three months. He recalled his old form and was repaid with a major MLB milestone.

With the feat, Wainwright becomes the 38th pitcher in NL history and the third in Cardinals' history to reach the 200-win mark. Further, he also becomes the 24th major league player to achieve the milestone since 2000, USA Today reported.

Wainwright can sing, too

As a treat to fans, Wainwright is scheduled to hold a postgame concert on September 30, the second-to-last day of the season.

The 42-year-old will serenade fans with three original songs from his upcoming country album, the Associated Press reported.

"I'm excited about sharing some music with everybody, and hopefully they'll like it," Wainwright said. "It's a fun opportunity for me."

Cardinals fans are not the only ones looking forward to Wainwright's concert. His teammates are also eager to hear his news songs, particularly Matthew Liberatore.

"He's a really good guitar player," Cardinals' reliever Matthew Liberatore said. "It's mostly country, and that's what I like. So I'm looking forward to hearing it."
