New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers sustained an Achilles tear during his debut game with the team last Monday night against the Buffalo Bills, marking the end of his 2023 NFL season after just four snaps.
After undergoing surgery to repair his left Achilles tendon on Wednesday, Rodgers appeared on the Pat McAfee Show on Friday, September 15, to reflect on the past week and discuss his future plans.
The 39-year-old described the 24 hours in the wake of the injury as one of the toughest moments of his life.
The NFL 2010s All-Decade team member shared that there was a lot of anger on his end, asking why the situation had to happen to him.
However, the ten-time Pro Bowl selection is now aiming to prove his doubters wrong by making a successful comeback on the field.
"Give me the doubts. Give the timetables. Give me all the things you think can, should, or will happen. Because all I need is that one little extra percent of inspiration. That's all I need. Then watch what I do," Rodgers firmly said.
Rodgers knew that he tore his Achilles
The four-time NFL Most Valuable Player expressed gratitude to all who had offered support, and he revealed that he was aware of the Achilles tear immediately following the injury.
"Before I even had an MRI, I knew what happened. I knew I had torn my Achilles. I knew right away this was not a good situation," the Super Bowl XLV MVP said.
