Zach Wilson, now the New York Jets starting quarterback in the wake of star Aaron Rodgers' brutal Achilles tear, revealed that he has been exchanging messages with the four-time NFL Most Valuable Player since he went down with the injury.
The 24-year-old said that their conversations were mostly about him telling Rodgers that he loves him and is thinking of him during this difficult time.
Wilson is also trying to give the Super Bowl XLV MVP that space he needs as he embarks on the road to recovery.
The third-year quarterback shared that he has been trying to mimic every little thing that Rodgers does, including his footwork and the coaching tips he has given the whole team.

Zach Wilson and Aaron Rodgers' friendship
Wilson and Rodgers' friendship blossomed in January when the former BYU player visited Rodgers' home in Malibu, California.
Rodgers was still with the Green Bay Packers during this period, and trade speculations to the Jets had not started yet.
"Big bro and little bro, hanging out. I just wanted to spend a little time together," Wilson said.
The friendship between the two was one of the central plots in HBO's reality sports documentary Hard Knocks, which followed the New York Jets training camp this year.
Wilson and Rodgers were almost inseparable during the preseason activities.
