The Los Angeles Angels can breathe for now as far as what the future holds for them and three-time MLB MVP Mike Trout.

So far, the Angels have gotten no indication that the 32-year-old will be asking for a trade. Better yet, no team has inquired about Mike Trout, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reported.

Trout is signed through 2030 with a no-trade clause in his current pact with the Angels. However, the team is reportedly open to trading the 2012 AL Rookie of the Year should he want out, USA Today reported.

The current MLB season is practically lost for the Angels, who are 13.5 games back from a Wild Card spot. This could become a factor in what Mike Trout decides moving forward.

Trout has been struggling with injuries lately, a possible reason why the Angels may be open to letting him walk. Among the teams mentioned by Heyman who could take interest in the 11-time All-Star are the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies.

Regardless if he can return to the Angels' fold, it will mark the second time in three seasons that he has been limited to fewer than 100 games, Bleacher Report pointed out.

Trout's decision could depend on this

Should it come to a point where Trout would request a trade, the Angels may still end up paying part of his deal even if he moves to a new MLB team.

Trout is likely observing the things going on with the Angels right now. If he feels that they are moving in the right direction towards playoff contention, he could be sticking around after all.
