New York Giants tight end Darren Waller has been dealing with a right hamstring injury, the same setback that affected him last season.
The injury caused him to be questionable during the team's season opener against the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday, September 10, which resulted in a brutal 40-0 beatdown.
However, the 31-year-old still saw action in the game, catching three passes for 36 yards on five total targets.
Waller confirmed that he plans on playing this coming Sunday, September 17, as they attempt to bounce back against the Arizona Cardinals.

The same injury bothered him in the 2022 season
Waller pulled the same hamstring nearly a year ago while still playing for the Las Vegas Raiders. Although he made it clear that it wasn't the same degree of strain as it was during the previous time.
The former Georgia Tech player exited their Week 5 game against the Kansas City Chiefs on October 11. Waller speculated that scarring could get built up in the same area of his previous injury.
"It more so has to do with the nerve that was behind it. So it's not really a muscular issue. It was more so a little bit something different, like nerve-wise," Waller said.
The 2020 Pro Bowl selection added that the injury can compress the nerve a bit, and it's just a matter of getting that stuff out of there to return to normal.
