The Buffalo Bills have been going through tough times lately, with general manager Brandon Beane having to make hard decisions.
On top of the list is the decision he had to make on pass rusher Von Miller. The 34-year-old was placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, meaning the two-time Super Bowl champion will be missing at least the first four games of the 2023 NFL season.
It will be recalled that Miller tore his ACL last Thanksgiving, and the Bills are understandably taking the cautious route as far as bringing the pass rusher back into action, Buffalo News reported.

"Debated round and round a little bit but ultimately, long season and we want Von for the stretch run," the 47-year-old NFL executive said.
Hence, the earliest time Von Miller can return would be by Week 5. This would be when the Bills face the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.
This also means that the Bills will be missing the services of the former Super Bowl MVP against the New York Jets, Las Vegas Raiders, Washington Commanders, and the Miami Dolphins, ESPN reported.
Beane is just being cautious about Miller
Before Beane placed him on PUP, Miller was optimistic he would be ready once the 2023 NFL season begins.
However, the Bills are taking no chances, and Beane says that if anyone is to blame for the move, it should be him.
"Von was ready - he's ready to play ball - and you can ultimately put that one on me," Beane said.
