WWE Rated-R Superstar Could Make Legendary Jump to AEW

WWE legend Edge could be the next big name from the promotion to make the jump to All-Elite Wrestling (AEW), per reports.

Also known as Adam Joseph Copeland in real life, Edge is fresh from a victory over Sheamus on SmackDown, an event held in his hometown of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

After that triumph, there were a lot of speculations on what lies ahead for the Rated-R superstar. There were suggestions he may retire, while others believe Edge could jump to AEW once his contract runs out.

Given that Edge continues to have a huge following and has proven he can still perform, seeing him jump to the rival promotion of the WWE seems like a huge possibility, Wrestling Inc. noted.

This developed not long after the 49-year-old Canadian held discussions with the WWE on a scenario that would lead to him signing a new lease, PWTorch reported. The WWE rejected the pitch, although what Edge was proposing remains unclear.

This will be the second time Edge will be linked to a move to the AEW. The first one happened in 2019. The former WWE champion would eventually re-sign with the promotion, returning after a 9-year layoff at the 2020 Royal Rumble.

Should the second time around be sealed, it would be a welcome development to AEW owner Tony Khan, who is said to be a big fan of the Rated-R superstar.

Aside from that, an Edge move to AEW would reunite him with his longtime friend and former tag team partner, Christian Cage, who is also currently the AEW TNT champion.

More ex-WWE talent waiting on Edge

Another former WWE talent, Renee Paquette (or Renee Young), could not hide her excitement if Edge would make the iconic jump to AEW.

"If he were to come over to AEW, I will cr*p my pants. Like, I'll die," Paquette said when she spoke to Rick Ucchino on 700WLW.
