Ja'Marr Chase throws more wood into the fire as he doubles down on ongoing rivalry with Kansas City Chiefs and their two main stars, Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes.
It can be remembered that the two camps figured in a verbal exchange last month after the Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver shaded Mahomes while calling his teammate Joe Burrow the best quarterback in the NFL.
This prompted Kelce to respond in an explicit-laced rant.
"Shoutout to Ja'Marr Chase for holding it down for his QB, but don't you ever disrespect Pat Mahomes, now," the Super Bowl champ said last June.
"If you wanna talk your s--t, talk your s--t pimp. Just better back it up."
Chase is unfazed. He believes Kelce's shout-out means he is getting on his nerves.
He is excited to face off against the Chiefs' tight end.
"I'm excited for it. I can't wait for it," Chase said during an interview with Kay Adams on FanDuel TV's Up & Adams show.
"I don't want to say too much because we already had Mr. Kelce come back with something, so I must be under somebody's skin."
When will the Bengals and Chiefs meet?
The two budding rivals will meet on December 31 for Week 17 when the Bengals visit the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.
The trash talk between their players has been a high point of the boring NFL summer, and fans are excited to see this play out on the field.
Joe Burrow, who is still recovering from a training camp injury, is not engaging in the trash talk but is excited to meet Kelce and Mahomes.
"The best thing about that is it's all settled on the field," he told The Complex when asked about the exchange between Chase, Kelce, and Patrick Mahomes.
"So we'll see them in December."
