Is the USA national basketball team ready to defend its title?
Gilbert Arenas is unconvinced about the current roster and called the lineup a "sorry ass-group."
The former Washington Wizards' rant came after Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young expressed a desire to become part of Team USA, which will compete in this month's FIBA World Cup to be held in Japan, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

For him, the current selection is lacking.
"You see that list he [Steve Kerr] got? A sorry-ass group," Arenas said, as quoted by Euro Hoops.
"Listen: I'm happy for the people who make it. It's cool. It's cool for some of the guys who got there that I don't know. Some of them probably don't even start on their team."
The USA team currently has four players who already reached the All-Star level. They are Anthony Edwards, Tyrese Haliburton, Brandon Ingram, and Jaren Jackson.
Arenas' similar issue with the national team back in 2007
Arenas rue the fact that there are stars who made themselves available, like Ice Trae, but were not included by the coaching staff.
"Because it's embarrassing sometimes when you have star players who are really stars that do want to participate," Arenas explained.
"And you just automatically say 'He's not going to fit our style.' How the F do you know that he's not going to fit your style if you don't give him a chance?"
The three-time NBA All-Star might be recalling what happened to him in 2007. He withdrew from the national team after claiming that coaches Mike D'Antoni and Nate McMillan already had a pre-determined lineup.
