Chicago White Sox's Tim Anderson is not yet done with Jose Ramirez.
The two figured in a fistfight during the second installment of their three-match series at Progressive Field.
Anderson was knocked down by Ramirez, but he is not yet ready to end it that way.
In a now-deleted tweet, the shortstop warned the Cleveland Guardians star that they would meet again.
Immediate punishments were handed to players and coaches of both sides, but the duo who started it all are expected to receive harsher penalties.
Ramirez was made available for Sunday's game, but Anderson was given a day off by his manager Pedro Grifol.
What started it, according to Ramirez
The Guardians star made himself available to the media after the match they both did not get to finish.
The fight was not just a result of the adrenaline players felt during a heated game. The tension has been brewing long before they meet on that base.
"I think he's been disrespecting the game for a while," Ramirez told reporters.
"It's not from just today or from before, and I even had the chance to tell him during the game, 'Don't do this stuff, just stay respectful, don't start tagging people like that."
Anderson was once criticized by fans and Guardians players during their previous match for a dangerous play on rookie Brayan Rocchio.
Ramirez added Anderson paid no attention to the criticism and tagged him with a force beyond what was needed. That was the time he decided to confront the White Sox player.
