The French star has only attempted 14 threes in his NBA career, but none went in.
While the shot appears out of his arsenal since he spends his time mostly under the basket, Gobert believes it is a shot he can make if he tries.
"It's something I work on a lot; every year, my confidence increases, and it is at a level where I know I can take them in games," he told reporters after the game.
Gobert likes France's improvement
The French national team is expected to be among the major contenders in the upcoming competition.
They came close to winning the title in their last three competitions. They were runners-up in the 2022 Eurobasket and the 2020 Olympic Games.
Gobert thinks the team is on the right track in terms of their preparation for the world basketball joust based on their victory against Montenegro.
"It's a game after which we have many things to correct," he said.
"I really liked the intensity, the way we got stronger as the match progressed. There are many good things, we will keep improving," Gobert concluded.
