Rumors have linked St. Louis Cardinals' star third baseman Nolan Arenado to the Los Angeles Dodgers as the team's season could be over soon after recent struggles.
The Cardinals are last in NL Central and have lost seven of their last ten games.
It is easy to assume Arenado has become unhappy, but the 32-year-old baseman has been with the team since 2021.
Arenado instantly quashed recent reports saying he is more focused on saving his team's season. However, he knows that him getting traded is always a possibility as a professional athlete.
On the other hand, team president John Mozeliak is firm with his view of Arenado. The star is not up for trade, and they are already looking into the future with him as part of the plan.
"I have stated we are not trading him, have not asked him to waive his no-trade clause," Mozeliak told the Post-Dispatch over the weekend.
"So at this time, we are working on building for future success."
Arenado keeps faith in the organization
While the second half of the season appears bleak, Arenado believes the organization is making moves to make the next season better.
"I'm sure they're doing their due diligence to try to figure out how to make this organization better," he said.
"I really don't have much to say about it. I haven't heard anything yet. So I'm just kind of sitting here, going out and competing."
