Carlos Alcaraz shocked the world over the weekend by defeating unofficial GOAT Novak Djokovic in the 2023 Wimbledon Men's Singles finals.

It was not an easy feat, but it was made possible because of Roger Federer and Andy Murray, according to his coach.

Juan Carlos Ferrero explained that his player took advantage of the skills he learned from the two tennis greats, plus the ones he observed from Djokovic, to clinch his first Wimbledon title.

"It's very difficult to say," Ferrero said in an interview with the Eurosport.

"I think he takes things on board very quickly, and we've also seen a lot of videos of players that move very quickly here. So, we copied a little of Murray, Roger, and Novak, and he tries to copy a little bit the same. In the end, it wasn't easy, but we did it."

True enough, Alcaraz was able to outlast Nole, 1-6, 7-6 (8-6), 6-1, 3-6, 6-4.

It is Alcaraz's second Grand Slam win. He is only 20 years old.

Djokovic hails Alcaraz as a 'complete' player

Novak Djokovic is aware of the observations done on Alcaraz, how he is a combination of him, Rafael Nadal, and Federer.

He saw this up close and personal and now echoes their sentiment.

"I haven't played a player like him ever, to be honest," he told reporters after the finals match.

"Roger and Rafa have their own strengths and weaknesses. Carlos is a very complete player. Amazing adapting capabilities that I think are a key for longevity and for a successful career on all surfaces."
