2023 NBA Draft second overall pick Scoot Henderson had a magnificent debut in the NBA Summer League against the Houston Rockets at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The 6-foot-2 guard nailed his first four shots, capping off a hot start with a stepback three-pointer with about four minutes remaining in the first quarter.

However, he sustained a right shoulder injury in the middle of the third quarter and did not return to the game. Henderson finished with 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists in 21 minutes of play in his first NBA action.

The Blazers' lottery pick chose the route of not playing college basketball, opting to go to the developmental team NBA G League Ignite in the NBA G League instead.

He averaged 17.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 6.6 assists, and 1.1 steals in 30.7 minutes per game in 19 appearances for Ignite in the 2022-23 NBA G League season.

Scoot Henderson works out with Stephen Curry

Ahead of his Summer League debut, the 19-year-old was working out with Warriors legend Stephen Curry on different skills of the game.

Henderson was seen doing Curry's signature pre-game dribble with two balls and utilizing a tennis ball workout to improve their handles and hand-to-eye coordination. The last clip of the video showed the two trying a shot from close range.

Curry and Henderson previously announced a "groundbreaking mentorship and strategic alliance" that would focus on basketball, business, media, and having a social impact last May, a month before Henderson was drafted.
