The Portland Trail Blazers have announced what they want in return for longtime franchise player Damian Lillard, who requested a trade away from the team a week ago.

The franchise is seeking around four future first-round picks and two quality players for one of the 75 greatest players in league history, and doing that may require a third team to be involved in the transaction.

Lillard's agent Aaron Goodwin remains confident that a deal can be done between the Blazers and the 32-year-old's preferred team, Miami Heat, if they sit down and negotiate seriously.

The seven-time All-Star remained adamant about his desire to play in South Beach, with a source claiming that Lillard may "not report" if he was dealt to another team other than the Heat.

Blazers looking beyond the Heat

On the other hand, the Blazers are not rushing to complete the trade, as Lillard still has four years left on his contract, including a $63.2 million player option for the 2026-27 season.

Portland is looking to maximize their returns for the franchise's all-time leading scorer, and they are looking for teams beyond Miami if other squads can give them a larger windfall.

The Blazers are reportedly "not impressed" with the Heat's trade offer for Lillard. They are not interested in guard Tyler Herro, whom the Heat primarily offer as part of the deal. Their surplus of backcourt players makes fitting Herro into the team's rotation impossible.
