FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly nearing an agreement for Brazilian superstar Neymar Jr. to wear the famed Blaugrana striped shirt again.
The two clubs have agreed to almost every term except for "one core point of contention."
The Spanish club wants PSG to pay for the bulk of Neymar's salary, according to beIN Sports.
The news outlet is based in Qatar, whose state investment fund owns the French-based club. PSG club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is also the chairman of beIN Media Group.
Neymar Jr. previously played for the Spanish club from 2013 to 2017, finishing third in the 2015 Ballon d'Or race behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Paris Saint-Germain acquired Neymar from Barcelona during the summer of 2017 by breaking the world-record transfer fee, paying about $240 million to the Spanish heavyweights.
However, his spell in France has been marred by injuries, despite showing some flashes of brilliance. He has not seen football action since March after undergoing surgery for a broken right ankle.
Barcelona Cannot Afford Neymar's Salary
The Brazilian superstar is believed to earn about $3.2 million monthly, a heavy burden to the cash-strapped Spanish club. They were unable to bring back Lionel Messi due to this problem.
A loan agreement is possible, with Barcelona and PSG sharing the massive wages of the forward.
Barcelona has activated several financial levers for the past year, including selling some of its assets and commercial rights to make moves during the transfer window while dealing with its massive debt.
