Veteran TNT broadcaster Ernie Johnson is set to achieve a huge milestone in his enduring broadcasting career.
Johnson is set to be inducted into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
None other than his Inside The NBA co-host Charles Barkley informed him of this news while they were doing the commentary for "The Match" exhibition golf series on TNT featuring Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson facing off against Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

After learning of the news, Johnson jokingly said he would take the rest of the day off. He then proceeded to thank everyone responsible for the honor.
"I've been at this for 34 years at the same place, and over 40 years in broadcasting and I'm stunned. Thank you so much, I appreciate that very much," the 66-year-old said.
Johnson has hosted Inside the NBA since 1989 and has also done non-basketball assignments such as being the play-by-play announcer of MLB on TBS and TNT's coverage of the PGA Golf Tour.
He is also the lead studio host for the NCAA men's basketball tournament since 2011.
