The Hawks were not expected to win Game 5 on Tuesday and extend the series, especially with star player Dejounte Murray absent and playing in front of a hostile Boston crowd.

Even the Hawks' own home arena seemed to lack faith in their ability to win.

Janet Jackson Concert, Rescheduled

The Atlanta Hawks' victory in Game 5 of their playoff series against the Boston Celtics at TD Garden means they will play Game 6 at their home court, State Farm Arena.

However, there was a problem because State Farm Arena had a scheduled performance by Janet Jackson on the same date as the game.

Jackson was set to perform in Atlanta on back-to-back days, but the Hawks' win caused a conflict, and a contingency plan had to be put in place.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Jackson's second Atlanta tour date was rescheduled to Friday, April 28, the day after the Hawks' Game 6. This change will give Jackson a day off in between her performances, allowing her to honor her commitments without any issues.

Conflicts between sporting events and musical acts (and other performers) are relatively common during the NBA playoffs, as schedules are continually evolving. A short altercation occurred recently due to the Lakers and Grizzlies' first-round playoff series, causing a delay in Lizzo's performance at Memphis' FedEx Forum. Similarly, in 2022, the Pelicans and Suns' playoff series resulted in the rescheduling of Master P's No Limit Reunion Tour at the Smoothie King Center in his hometown of New Orleans.

If the Hawks win Game 6 and force a Game 7, the series will shift back to Boston.
