Nuggets' Nikola Jokic is currently receiving a lot of attention as an NBA superstar due to the possibility of winning his third consecutive MVP award this season, which would be a historic achievement.

However, there are differing opinions regarding whether or not Jokic should receive the award again this year. His former teammate, DeMarcus Cousins, recently shared on an episode of KG Certified why he does not believe Jokic should be chosen as the MVP this season.

Jokic Hasn't Won Anything

"I'm not okay with it being three MVPs in a row because it then becomes a conversation of - is this the best basketball player to ever touch a basketball? I'm not saying he can't be, not saying he doesn't deserve more down the road," Cousins said.

What concerns him is this - Jokic hasn't won anything and hasn't been to a final. Cousins said putting him over Shaquille O'Neal, Hakeem Olajuwon, Tim Duncan, and Wilt Chamberlain is a complex conversation. He stressed that he was not comfortable saying it.

Cousins, a four-time All-Star, played for the Denver Nuggets in the 2021-22 season as a backup center to Jokic. He played in 31 games and averaged 8.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists.
