As the NBA 2023 playoffs' first round pits the Golden State Warriors against the Sacramento Kings, fans and analysts alike can't help but draw comparisons between the two teams. However, Kyle Kuzma, a forward for the Washington Wizards, finds these comparisons absurd.

This was after Kings insider James Ham claimed that the Kings' offense in the 2022-2023 season was better than any offense the Warriors had during their championship years. While Ham's opinion holds weight, considering his experience covering the Warriors in the past, Kuzma found it disrespectful to the Warriors and what they have accomplished.

The Kings have yet to prove themselves

Kuzma expressed his frustration with the situation on Twitter, stating that while the Kings had an impressive offense, people should be realistic about comparing them to the Warriors. Although the Kings had the best offensive rating this regular season, they have yet to dominate the way the Warriors did during their championship run from 2014 to 2019.

Kuzma's point of view is understandable - the Kings have yet to prove themselves in the postseason, while the Warriors have demonstrated their ability to dominate in various ways. Despite the hype surrounding the Kings' roster, which broke the team's 16-year playoff drought, it's wise not to expect too much until they have actually played NBA postseason basketball.
