Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson didn't hold back as he defended himself amid criticisms that he's often injured and doesn't have the desire to win. And he got the support of NFL icon Deion Sanders.

Amid his contract dispute with the Ravens, Jackson has been on the receiving end of a massive backlash. Many are questioning his desire for a big payday when he went missing in action for Baltimore during their 2022 playoff run. To recall, Jackson missed the last five games of the season, as well as their Wild Card round showdown against the Cincinnati Bengals due to a PCL injury.

Critics have concerns about Jackson's toughness and injury history, something that the quarterback said shouldn't have been an issue at all.

Lamar Jackson Slams Critics, Deion Sanders Shows Support

On Twitter, Lamar Jackson defended himself and argued he couldn't have played for the Ravens when he's not 100 percent healthy. He pointed out that it would have been more selfish had he suit up and ended up playing horribly and put the team in a "bad situation."

"I don't remember me sitting out on my guys Week 1 vs Jets to Week 12 vs Broncos. How come all of a sudden I sit out because of money in which I could've got hurt at anytime within that time frame when we know the Super Bowl been on my mind since April 2018," Jackson shared.

As critics continue to pile on Jackson, though, NFL icon Deion Sanders came to his defense. He also gave an advice to the dual-threat QB that it's better for him if he doesn't respond to the "fools" questioning every move he makes.

"Stop explaining yourself to fools and allow fools to be fools. A brother trying that's strong, believes in himself and willing to stand for what he believes will always be misunderstood and judged by fools of all ethnicities. Love ya my brother and I Believe in You!" Coach Prim wrote.

Sure enough, it might be better for Jackson to heed Sanders' advice. After all, he has nothing left to prove.
