After recording a stunning come-from-behind win over the red-hot Cincinnati Bengals, the New York Jets will head to Indianapolis feeling good about themselves. Can Mike White replicate his incredible performance in Week 8 and deliver another excellent showing in the Jets vs Colts Thursday Night Football game?
New York Jets installed as +10.5 underdogs
A new star is born in the Big Apple, and his name is Mike White. The backup quarterback of the Jets delivered a performance for the ages in Week 8, leading New York to a stunning 34-31 win over AFC leaders Cincinnati Bengals. It was a remarkable win for the New York Jets, who scored the game's final 14 points to turn a 31-20 deficit into a three-point victory in the end.
White made the most of his surprise start, completing 37 of 45 passes for 405 yards and three touchdowns. White, who also caught a 2-point conversion pass on the go-ahead score, made history with his performance as he joined Cam Newton as the only players to throw for at least 400 yards in their first career start.

It has been 327 games since the Jets featured a 400-yard passer, with Vinny Testaverde the last player to do so on Christmas Eve 2000 when he threw for 481 yards. White also set a new NFL record for the most completions by a player in his first start.
White's performance was not expected, given that he had not thrown an NFL pass until last week. He will once again be the Jets' starter on Thursday Night Football, with rookie quarterback Zach Wilson still sidelined with a knee injury.

Indianapolis Colts enter Week 9 as -10.5 favorites
The Indianapolis Colts had their two-game winning streak snapped in Week 8 with a gut-wrenching 34-31 overtime loss to the Tennessee Titans. It was a big blow for the Colts, who now trail the Titans by three games in the AFC South with a 3-5 record.
Carson Wentz choked down the stretch when his team needed him the most, throwing two crucial interceptions that handed the Titans the win. The first pick came in the latter stages of the fourth quarter, with the game tied at 24-all.
If Wentz takes a safety it’s game over, so he consciously throws a pick 6 to go down the field and tie it up later.

Elijah Molden stole Wentz's pass and recorded Tennessee's first pick-six in 38 games to give the Titans a 31-24 lead. The Colts managed to force overtime after a late touchdown drive in regulation, but Wentz committed another fatal mistake in the extra period. He threw an interception to Kevin Byard, setting up the Titans' game-winning field goal.
The Colts will look to get their season back on track when they face the Jets on TNF. The division is still up for grabs, even with the Titans now holding a three-game lead as Tennessee running back Derrick Henry is out for the next 6-10 weeks with a right foot injury.
For Indianapolis to get the much-needed win in Week 9, it needs a quality performance from Wentz. He threw for 231 yards and three touchdowns in the loss to the Titans.
