Dallas Cowboys enter Week 8 as -2.5 favorites

Dallas extended its winning streak to five games with a thrilling 35-29 overtime victory over the New England Patriots in Week 6. It was an incredible come-from-behind win for the Cowboys, who now hold an impressive 3 1/2 game lead atop the NFC East standings.

Dak Prescott led the way for the Cowboys in the narrow win, completing 36 of 51 passes for 445 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. He forged quite a connection with Ceedee Lamb, who caught nine passes for 149 yards and two scores, including the game-winning 35-yard touchdown reception in overtime.

The Cowboys wreaked havoc against the Patriots, generating 567 yards of total offense. The Cowboys will look to keep it going against a Minnesota side that has allowed an average of 358.3 total yards per game this season.

The Cowboys did not leave New England unscathed, though, with Prescott suffering a right calf injury during the final play in overtime. However, he is expected to be ready for the game against the Vikings, with Prescott spending most of the bye week rehabbing at the Cowboys' facility. Prescott has been sensational for Dallas this year, throwing for 1,813 yards with 16 touchdowns and only four interceptions.

Minnesota Vikings installed as +2.5 underdogs

Minnesota chalked up its third win of the season with a thrilling 34-28 victory over the Carolina Panthers in Week 6. It was a critical victory for the Vikings, who moved to .500 for the first time this season with their 3-3 record.

Minnesota's win would not be possible without the heroics of Kirk Cousins. The Vikings quarterback completed 33 of 48 passes for 373 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in the win against Carolina.

Cousins did not get rattled with Carolina's late comeback in the fourth quarter, leading the Vikings to a scoring drive in their first possession in overtime, throwing a game-winning 27-yard touchdown pass to K.J. Osborn.

Cousins has been phenomenal for the Vikings to start the season, throwing for 1,769 yards and 13 touchdowns with only two interceptions through their first six games. Heading into Week 7, Cousins is seventh in the league in passing yards and ninth in passing touchdowns.

Cousins had some help from Dalvin Cook in the win against Carolina. He ran for 140 yards and a score on 29 carries. However, Cook will have his work cut out for him against a Dallas side that has allowed an average of just 86.2 yards per game on the ground this season.
