Two AFC East teams will square off on Sunday in Week 8 as the reeling Miami Dolphins visit the Buffalo Bills at the Highmark Stadium. Can Josh Allen extend Buffalo's dominance against Miami in this Dolphins vs Bills clash? Here's a preview of this key divisional matchup.
Miami Dolphins enter Week 8 as +12 underdogs
The losses are piling up for the woeful Dolphins. Miami stumbled to its sixth consecutive defeat on Sunday, absorbing a gut-wrenching 30-28 loss at the hands of the Atlanta Falcons. The Dolphins lost on a last-second field goal for the second game running, with Atlanta's Younghoe Koo sealing Miami's fate this time around.
The Dolphins looked like they were on their way to ending their losing rut, scoring 14 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to turn a 27-14 deficit into a 28-27 advantage with two minutes and 33 seconds remaining in the contest. However, that was more than enough time for Matt Ryan to engineer a scoring drive, making two big throws to Kyle Pitts to put Atlanta in field goal range.

It was a heartbreaking loss for Tua Tagovailoa, who played one of his best games in a Miami uniform. He completed 32 of 40 passes for 291 yards and tied a career-high with four touchdowns. Tagovailoa still committed mistakes, however, recording two interceptions, both of which resulted in Atlanta scores.
Miami surrendered 20 consecutive points in the loss to the Falcons, the fifth time in the last six games that the Dolphins allowed at least that many points without scoring. The Dolphins can ill afford to do that against the Bills, who racked up 35 consecutive points against Miami in Week 2.

Buffalo Bills installed as -12 favorites
The Buffalo Bills had their four-game winning streak snapped in Week 6 with a gut-wrenching 34-31 loss to the Tennessee Titans. The Bills had an excellent opportunity to record their fifth straight victory, but several missed chances on the offensive end denied them a 5-1 slate.
What an ending!

Sure, Josh Allen lost his footing going for the QB sneak. But look at the way Jeffrey Simmons basially ignores the block attempt from Dawkins to crash inside & stop Allen dead. Phenomenal play to win the game.#TENvsBUF #MNF #NFL #TitanUppic.twitter.com/yHZ99RJ5i6
The Bills decided to go for it on fourth down inside the Titans' 10-yard line instead of kicking a possible game-tying field goal. Unfortunately for the Bills, that decision backfired as Josh Allen slipped on a quarterback sneak. Allen's failed attempt on fourth down was a surprise given that he had converted a league-best 24 QB sneaks for first downs since 2018.
They will look to get their season back on track when they host the Miami Dolphins in Week 8. The Bills will fancy their chances of doing just that as they have fared extremely well against the Dolphins of late. The Bills have won their last six games against the Dolphins, including a 35-0 thrashing in their last meeting in Miami earlier this season. Allen completed 17 of 33 passes for 179 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in that Week 2 win.
