Stephen Curry will head into the 2021-22 season as the highest-paid player in the NBA. The Golden State Warriors superstar will earn a whopping $45,780,966 this upcoming campaign, part of the five-year $201 million contract extension Curry signed back in 2017.

Curry will continue to be on the list of richest NBA players for years to come as he recently signed a lucrative four-year, $215 million extension to stay with the Warriors. Curry made history with that signing as he became the first NBA player to land a pair of $200 million contracts during his career.

Harden and Wall tied for second in the richest list with a $44.3 million salary

Coming in second in the highest-paid list this upcoming season are James Harden and John Wall. Both players will earn a staggering $44,310,840 this coming season as members of the Brooklyn Nets and Houston Rockets.

Harden nabbed the huge payday after signing a four-year, $171 million contract extension with the Rockets back in 2017, stretching his deal with Houston at that time to a then NBA record of $228 million for five years.

The marriage between Harden and the Rockets eventually crumbled with Houston dealing the left-handed star to Brooklyn earlier this year. The Nets are confident they can sign Harden to a contract extension after locking up Durant to a long-term deal earlier this month.

Wall sealed his huge payday back in the summer of 2017 when he signed a four-year, $170 million contract extension with the Washington Wizards that kicked in during the 2019-20 campaign. The Wizards immediately rued giving Wall that huge deal after the All-Star guard went down with a series of serious injuries.

The Wizards decided to cut their losses, trading Wall to the Rockets for Russell Westbrook before the start of the 2020-21 season, dealing a protected 2023 first-round pick to get him off their hands.

They have managed to turn Wall into a plethora of players as they traded Westbrook to the Los Angeles Lakers for Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Montrezl Harrell, and Isaiah Jackson, the 22nd overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft.

That isn't Wall's concern anymore as he will enjoying his huge pile of cash this season while playing for the Rockets. However, rumors are rampant that Houston will buy out Wall's huge contract before the start of the season, so he might be on the move yet again.

Westbrook and Durant lead the remaining cast of richest NBA players

Speaking of Westbrook, he is fourth on the list with $44,211,146 in the bank for the upcoming season. Westbrook sealed a dream move to the Lakers weeks ago, forming a lethal trio with LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Westbrook's former Oklahoma City teammate Kevin Durant is fifth in the highest-paid list, earning $42,018,900 this upcoming season. Durant's stock has never been higher after leading Team USA to Olympic glory in the Tokyo Games. Durant has defied expectations, recovering strongly from the Achilles injury he suffered in the NBA Finals back in 2019.

Rounding out the Top 10 are four-time league MVP LeBron James ($41,180,544), newly crowned NBA champion Giannis Antetokounmpo ($39,344,970), Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard ($39,344,900), LA Clippers forward Paul George ($39,344,900), and Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson ($37,980,720).
