HTC is rumoured to be working on a latest flagship with the code-name HTC Ocean. Device would be unlike any other handset that we have seen. Just recently, there is leaked press-render of an HTC smartphone surfaced which seems to match the rumours.

The images of a device with the codename HTC "Ocean" has been initially emerged on Twitter on Saturday, which shows a relatively conventional-looking smartphone in dark red or brown cherry. Unlike previous leaks, the latest set of renders suggests that the HTC Ocean won't feature a curved display, and will ship with a USB Type-C port, as reported by Android Headlines.

According to leaks, the handset is also missing a physical Home button and will ship with a dual speaker setup. Even if the leak is legitimate, the renders likely aren't final seeing how they show a smartphone that not only lacks a fingerprint scanner but also about missing all standard physical buttons.

The HTC Ocean is said to be the latest member of the HTC U family that the Taiwanese electronics manufacturer introduced earlier in this year when it has announced the HTC U Play and the HTC U Ultra. While the latter model is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC and 4GB of RAM, it isn't meant to be HTC's main flagship this year. In its place, the HTC U Ultra was apparently launched as an intermediate step between the HTC 10 and the company's main high-end smartphone for 2017.

However, there's still no official word on how the HTC Ocean will actually be called once it hits the market. But several industry sources have previously reported some other details regarding the upcoming handset.

The Smartphone is said to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 SoC and 4GB RAM, in addition to featuring 64GB of storage space. The HTC Ocean is also said to feature a 5.5-inch display panel with a resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels. On the software from, HTC's next flagship will ship with Android Nougat and the HTC Sense 9 launcher. More details regarding the HTC Ocean should follow soon.
