Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 4A in India at INR 5,999. Redmi 4A is the latest model in the company's low-cost, entry-level smartphone series.

The new Xiaomi Redmi 4A smartphone will support Reliance Jio's 4G VoLTE network, and comes in three color variants, which are Dark Grey, Gold and Rose Gold. Other key Redmi 4A features include IR blaster and 3120mAh battery.

On talking about specifications, Redmi 4A has a 5-inch IPS LCD screen with HD resolution (720p). Redmi 4A boasts a good 3120mAh battery. Also unlike Xiaomi's Redmi 3S series, which feature a metal unibody design, the Redmi 4A will be having a polycarbonate body, as reported by Indian Express.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4A features a hybrid dual-SIM card slot, and runs MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The Redmi 4A is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 SoC, which is coupled with the Adreno 308 GPU and 2GB RAM, as reported by Gadget 360.

The Redmi 4A rear camera is having a 13-megapixel sensor with PDAF, a 5-lens system, an f/2.2 aperture, and LED flash. The front camera contains a 5-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. Redmi 4A comes with 16GB of built-in storage that is expandable via microSD card, up to 128GB.

Connectivity options in the Redmi 4A include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/ A-GPS, and Bluetooth v4.1. Sensors in smartphone include accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, infrared, and proximity.

Xiaomi Redmi 4A comes in Dark Grey and Gold color options in India and is available now on Amazon India and Mi.com. Those looking to buy the Rose Gold Redmi 4A will have to wait till April 6; this variant will be sold only on Mi.com. Xiaomi Redmi 4A will not be sold offline.

Xiaomi has also reportedly opened up a new manufacturing unit in Sri City of Andhra Pradesh in partnership with Foxconn. Moreover, Xiaomi said the successor to its Redmi 3S smartphone is coming soon.
