Two days after she was involved in a motorcycle accident, Jan Ross, wife of WWE Hall of Fame announcer Jim Ross, passed away Wednesday. Following the accident, Jan Ross suffered multiple skull fractures and brain injuries. Doctors resorted to surgery and put her in a medically induced coma to try and relieve swelling in her brain.

As reported by FOX Sports, Jim Ross took to Twitter to announcing the passing of his wife. “A priest gave my wife Jan her last rites tonight. My little angle is gone,” Jim Ross tweeted Wednesday. As noted by the report, Jan Ross was riding a Vespa without a helmet when she was hit by a teen driving a car. She was 55 years old.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Jan Ross was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old male as she was riding her moped going home from the local gym at around 9:30 p.m. Monday. “This has been a week that has changed my life forever,” Jim Ross wrote on his blog earlier in the week. As noted by the report, Jim Ross lauded his wife for standing by him throughout the many challenges he faced, which included three bouts with Bell’s Palsy, dependence on Ambien, a life-threatening colon surgery, and multiple bouts with depression. Jim Ross added that throughout the challenges he faced, not once did she complain. The couple was married in 1993.

According to Jim Ross, he started seeing his would-be wife during his days with the WCW, which eventually turned into a marriage that spanned his 21 years with the WWE. Expectedly, a deluge of support from the WWE family came following Jim Ross’ tweets about the condition of his wife. Legendary WWE superstars Ric Flair, Ted DiBiase, Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Mick Foley were among those that sent out their support via social media.
