"Horizon Zero Dawn" is the next gen game that everybody is waiting for. The game makes full use of the Playstation 4's hardware and thus can't be released on past consoles. While it took several years for a true next gen title to arrive, for gamers, it was worth the wait. The praise has translated to huge sales and fortunately for gamers, more is yet to come for the new IP.

Dual Shockers reports that "Horizon Zero Dawn" has now surpassed 2.6 million copies sold. What's more amazing is that the game was able to accomplish the feat in just two weeks since its release. Moreover, Sony has announced that Horizon is the best-selling new first party IP launch on the PS4 to date and Guerrilla Game's biggest debut ever.

As a comparison, "The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt," which is one of 2015's most successful games, sold 4 million copies in its first two weeks across 3 platforms. On the other hand, PS4 exclusive "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" came away with 2.7 million copies sold in its first week of release. For the first entry of a new IP, the numbers for "Horizon Zero Dawn" are exceptional.

Meanwhile as thanks for the success and praise for "Horizon Zero Dawn," developer Guerrilla Games has announced more to come for the booming game. Guerilla Managing Director, Hermen Hulst announced that he is pleased with the game's outcome and assured fans that the team is developing more content. He adds that Horizon is only the beginning of Aloy's story and its world. He then later confirms that the team is hard at work for a story expansion that will be released to an unspecified date.

Although details regarding the story expansion of "Horizon Zero Dawn" a recent job posting on Guerrilla Games may offer clues to the story expansion. The job listing is looking for experts in animation that are adept in animal movements. This could lead to the addition of more machines for the story expansion.
