The Surface Book successor, the all new Microsoft Surface Book 2 has been rumored to be in the works. Microsoft, on the other hand, seems very unwilling to share any news or information regarding the development of its next-generation premium hybrid laptop device.

If the latest reports are to be believed then tech giant's Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 discounts suggest that Microsoft wants to clear its inventory to make the way for its new models. There are also rumors that the Microsoft Surface Book 2 could roll out in March 2017, according to Tech Radar report.

However, that appears unlikely, since the Microsoft Surface Book 2 is expected to have the upcoming Windows 10 Creators Update, which is scheduled to launch in April 2017. This could also mean that the tech giant might need a little bit more time to enhance the latest version of its operating system, which Microsoft wants to incorporate the OS in the next-gen hybrid laptop.

In August 2016, Microsoft took to its Instagram account and posted an image of what many speculated was the Microsoft Surface Book 2. If the photo is really a teaser of the Surface Book 2 then fans should be expecting a significant improvement in its design. It can also be noticed that the hinge on the uploaded photo has fewer ridges as compared to that of the current model of Surface Book.

Despite the lack of any substantial Surface Book 2 reports, some speculations regarding the specs and features of the upcoming laptop computer are running uncontrollable on the internet. The Microsoft Surface Book 2 is rumored to be powered by Intel's next generation Kaby Lake chip, according to Droid Report. The said device is also expected to feature a 4K display resolution option, as well as full VR capabilities.

Moreover, the Microsoft Surface Book 2 is expected to sport a powerful GPU either from Nvidia or AMD. Patrons are also expecting a necessary improvement in the Microsoft Surface Book 2 design. As for the Microsoft Surface Book 2 price, the upcoming laptop will most likely have a starting price of $1499.
