The New England Patriots have become one of the active teams in NFL free agency, their latest success is a capture of Brandin Cooks, who gives Tom Brady his most dangerous and best receiving corps in many years.

Over the past few days in the NFL free agency, Patriots who came back from 3-28 deficit to become the Super Bowl champions have emerged as one of the active teams in the agency right now. They are gearing up for the sixth championship run by patching their holes and getting whoever they want to.

Patriots' latest recruitment is a pacy wide receiver Brandin Cooks, who can be the best receiving corps for Tom Brady. Bill Belichick was looking for Cooks since a long time since the Patriots and Saints shared training camp practices. The Saints have tried to unload Cooks from a few weeks now in order to get help for some bad secondary.

The Patriots paid quite a high price for Cooks though, by sending their first round and third round picks to the Saints in exchange for the player they wanted. Belichick has a good start to the new league year. The Patriots have already got Stephon Gilmore to start off their free agency business.

They traded for Dwayne Allen after letting go Martellus Bennett. Belichick made a move that was bereft of risk by moving down eight spots in the draft to get Carolina defensive end Kony Ealy. Cooks have topped their priorities so far and they got what they needed, actually what Brady needed too.

Tom Brady recently celebrated his 40th birthday in August and is preparing to go up the hill, but he will be happy as he will be happy having the best receiving corps in recent years. As expected, there is Rob Gronkowski, Danny Amendola, Chris Hogan, Julian Edelman and Malcolm Mitchell would go with them. Now, Brady gets the speed of Cooks in receiving who ranks sixth in league last year in yards per target.
