The 2017 NFL free agency is officially underway and while a number of big name free agents have already found new teams Colin Kaepernick is yet to find a new home. According to recent reports, Colin Kaepernick may be headed to the Seattle Seahawks.

A Colin Kaepernick Seattle Seahawks may be one of the oddest pairing in NFL in years given the San Francisco 49ers - Seattle Seahawks NFC West rivalry. Also, given Kaepernick's NFL antics, it is quite hard to believe that the Seahawks, of all NFL teams, will be interested in signing the polarizing quarterback.

According to Sportingnews, given Colin Kaepernick's durability issues and his unremarkable performance in the recent NFL season, only a limited number of NFL teams will be interested in signing the quarterback. This plus Kaepernick's controversial national anthem antics will further narrow down the number of teams that will even consider getting Kaepernick on the team.

The Seattle Seahawks may not be an ideal destination for Kaepernick, given that he will be a backup quarterback in a team that already has Russell Wilson calling the shot. However, the controversial quarterback may not really have a choice.

According to NFL.com, Colin Kaepernick is not really drawing much interest from other NFL teams. This is not only because of Kaepernick's political statement but also because the quarterback had an unimpressive season with the San Francisco 49ers last year. With very little interest from other teams, Kaepernick may have to settle on whatever offer is available in order to stay playing in the NFL.

Colin Kaepernick, aside from having a paycut, will also settle on being a backup quarterback if a Seattle Seahawks deal is going to happen. Though this situation may not be ideal for the former San Francisco 49ers starting quarterback, this may actually do good for Kaepernick's career in the long run.
