Ever since Cody Garbrandt won the UFC bantamweight title from Dominick Cruz, fans have been looking forward to the matchup between him and former Team Alpha Male teammate TJ Dillashaw. Recently, the UFC released the trailer for the upcoming season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” which showed a clip of Garbrandt choking Dillashaw, further heightening anticipation for their fight later this year.

As noted by MMA Junkie, Cody Garbrandt and TJ Dillashaw will be coaching against each other in “The Ultimate Fighter 25: Redemption,” supervising a cast of 14 fighters who have either competed in the UFC or in the company’s long-running reality series. There have been a history of coaching clashes that have nearly gotten dangerously physical, with Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva setting the gold standard. But from the trailer, it is seen that Garbrandt and Dillashaw will get their hands on each other at least once.

TJ Dillashaw left Team Alpha Male in 2015 to train with Elevation Fight Team, a development which Conor McGregor used to chide Uriah Faber when they were opposing coaches in a previous season of “The Ultimate Fighter.” Ironically, it was Cody Garbrandt that initiated a near brawl with the UFC lightweight champion.

Cody Garbrandt and TJ DIllashaw will be fighting for the bantamweight strap at the conclusion of the season at a yet to be announced date and venue. The fight promises to be one of the most highly anticipated fights of 2017, with the palpable bad blood between the two. In previous interviews, Garbrandt has called Dillashaw a “cancer” and a “snake,” and also claimed to have video of him knocking out his former teammate during sparring.

As noted by FOX Sports, “The Ultimate Fighter 25: Redemption” debuts on FSI on April 19 at 10 p.m. Watch the trailer below to get a taste of what promises to be a compelling series.
