The Golden State Warriors is, without a doubt, not the same without Kevin Durant. With the Durant injury timeline still uncertain, can Steph Curry carry the Dubs to a deep playoff run?

According to the Kevin Durant injury update posted in the Golden State Warriors' official twitter page, the All-Star forward has suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain and tibial bone bruise. The injury of Kevin Durant will force him to be sidelined indefinitely and he is scheduled to be re-evaluated after four weeks.

Though the GSW organization has not ruled out the idea that Durant could still play some regular season games, not seeing KD in action up until the playoffs is a possibility that the Dubs should accept. This means the GSW offense will be relying on its other All-Stars, particularly Steph Curry.

According to CBSSports, Steph Curry plans to overcome the absence of Kevin Durant by simply being himself. This means the Dubs' floor general will be throwing perimeter shots with his usual rate.

Steph Curry with all his brilliance and video game perimeter efficiency cannot carry the Golden State Warriors in a deep playoff run. The GSW's mantra in the two time the team entered the NBA's biggest stage is Strength in Numbers. This is no longer the case as the Dubs had to let go of major pieces just to absorb Kevin Durant's contract.

With KD's injury, the rest of the GSW roster really have a big shoe to fill. Kevin Durant's presence on the floor does not only make the Warriors better offensively but his length and improved defensive ability is also a big part why the Warriors small ball roster works.

Without Kevin Durant, the Golden State Warriors may not even make it out of tight Western Conference race. With the Spurs, Clippers and Rockets healthy, a Kevin Durant-less Warriors team, whether they accept it or not, will not make it to the NBA finals.
