Colin Kaepernick is expected to stand for the National Anthem for the 2017 NFL season. He has hired new agents, they in turn told the teams that Kaepernick will be opting out of his San Francisco 49ers contract and become a free agent for the upcoming season.

All the above things are related to each other, Kaepernick will surely have a tough time finding a free agency which fits him, over the past few years he has been quite an inconsistent performer on the pitch. His national anthem protest last season is also gonna affect the decision-making of many NFL team owners.

Kaepernick has told everyone that he won't kneel during the anthems now, maybe getting new agents has something to do with it, as reported at ESPN. It was further reported that Kaepernick doesn't want past method of process to detract the positive change which has been created recently. While this news might be true, it can't come as a coincidence that 24 hours before this announcement, he revealed that he will be a free agent.

This protest ending may may make Kaepernick's free agency tour a bit less hard, but if the owners are already angry and have made their mind up then they are not likely to forget the moment and they won't forgive him even if he starts to stand for the national anthem in 2017. But as long as one team likes Kaepernick and choose to sign him as a quarter-back, problems will more or less be solved.

Kaepernick's national anthem protest was to bring attention of all of us towards social and racial injustice, this could have been foiled as a cause of distraction for the new team, dropping that idea means the issue regarding the national anthem won't recur.
