Scoring his 29th triple-double, Oklahoma City Thunder's Russell Westbrook proves that he can make his scoring streak even after a new season takes place. Despite losing his long-time partner Kevin Durant to the Golden State Warriors, Westbrook proved himself to be a formidable star player.

As reported by SB Nation, Russell Westbrook is considered a "threat" for all NBA teams out there. Ever since Durant went off to play for the Warriors, Westbrook was able to magnify further his worth as a player because he needed to take the whole Oklahoma City Thunder on his shoulders - and he is doing great.

Comparisons are inevitable, especially if people try to rank who bested out whom for the past seasons. Lebron James and Stephen Curry are among the favorites - they made NBA records that are still yet to be beaten. Though Russell Westbrook has been considered among the best players in NBA today, people has always been sceptical about what he can really do without Durant by his side - and he proves everybody wrong.

Last season, he made a streak of triple-doubles, and people thought that that's all there is to it. But it's been three games since the new season started - and he was able to continue the triple-double streak once again. Russell Westbrook's third-40-point triple double was dropped on Sunday. Overall, he gained 41 points, 11 assists, 11 rebounds and nine turnovers. He gained 21 points by the fourth quarter against New Orleans Pelicans. [ESPN]

With his current performance, Russell Westbrook may actually be able to best out other big players - even his former team mate Kevin Durant. The departure of Durant from Oklahoma City Thunder was thought to be a demoralizing event for the team, but early predictions were proven wrong. Westbrook is like a bomb - since nobody is with him to share center stage, he takes everything to himself and does what he really is capable of.
