It is likely that Real Madrid will be losing their game against Villareal. But making three goals in 20 minutes paved way to winning despite having a two-point deficit for the first half of the game. Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Alvaro Morata made one goal each for the second half of the thrilling game.

Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane said, "In the end we come away with three points against an opponent that can make things difficult for you. We're happy to earn the win against a great side." With their win, Madrid was able to equal Barcelona's record of 44 straight games scoring at least one goal. The first record was in 1994, as reported by ABS-CBN Sports.

Earlier on Sunday, Atletico Madrid lost against Barcelona in score of 2-1 because of Lionel Messi's late winner. On the other hand, Real Madrid won against Villareal with a score of 3-2. Madrid will face Celta Vigo next. The win also enabled to equal Madrid's standing against Barcelona. A draw or loss could have retained Barcelona's top position in the league.

However, Gareth Bale, who was able to take one goal for Madrid suffered an ankle injury. The injury might affect the succeeding games from here onwards. But Villareal's Sergio Asenjo also suffered an injured knee which made him be rushed to the hospital. The injury happened after a save from Karim Benzema's shot.

But as Manu Trigueros and Cedric Bakambu answered back after Asenjo's injury, that was when VIllareal rallied with a score of 2-0 on their advantage. But by the 64 minutes of the game, Bale made the first score for Madrid. Then with a controversial penalty, Cristiano Ronaldo was able to level the scores to 2-2. With seven minutes left in the game, Alvaro Morata was able to hit the score taking the winning score of 2-3 for Madrid's advantage, The Sun reported.
