It is very rare to see NBA contenders to actually make big moves during trade deadlines, particularly the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs has been tagged as a notoriously against making deals at the trade deadline.

According to airalamo, San Antonio Spurs doesn't really have any legitimate issues to address this season's trade deadline. But, since the NBA trade deadline clock is about to expire there's no harm exploring the possible San Antonio Spurs trade the team may want to consider.

One of the biggest names involved in every team's trade talks is that of Jimmy Butler. Though the Spurs may not have the trade pieces to make the trade happen, unless they decide to give away LaMarcus Aldrige or Danny Green plus a bunch of role players, making the Jimmy Butler trade happen will make Spurs a really terrifying team.

Butler, widely considered as one of the league's best perimeter defenders, paired with two-time NBA Defensive Player of the year awardee, Kahwi Leonard will be one of the best defensive pairings the league has ever seen. The frontcourt duo of Pau Gasol and LaMarcus Aldridge is no defensive pushovers either.

Another potential San Antonio Spurs trade deal that will certainly make fans either jump for joy or cringe is to go after point guards. According to reports, the Timberwolves is looking to make a Ricky Rubio trade and the Knicks is also looking to move Derrick Rose elsewhere.

Tony Parker is not the point guard he once was and having a backup floor general who has the potential to ease into the starting role will be an excellent acquisition for San Antonio. Though Rose may be a better offensive player than Rose, with the current pieces that the Spurs has having Rubio as a facilitator makes more sense.

Fans may not hear any San Antonio trade news this NBA trade deadline, however, this does not mean the Spurs isn't looking for an upgrade. However, there is more elbow room to make deals during off season.
