Damian Lillard Available To The Highest Bidder, Will Blazers Trade For Carmelo Anthony Or Paul George?

As the Feb. 23 NBA Trade deadline draws closer, another All-Star caliber guard is being dragged to trade speculations. According to reports, the Portland Trail Blazers has made Damian Lillard available for the highest bidder.

Damian Lillard is currently averaging 25.7ppg, 5.8apg, and 4.9rpg this season and has emerged as the leader of the Portland Trail Blazers. The dynamic duo of Lillard and CJ McCollum has propelled the Blazers to more wins this season, with Lillard often doing the heavy lifting.

According to Amicohoops, the Portland Trail Blazers has opened their phone lines for a possible Damian Lillard trade. The Portland team is reportedly taking calls and has been a willing listener for Lillard trade offers.

Lillard who at the second year of the $139million five-year offer sheet he signed last year is owed $24million this season. Having such financial baggage, teams will have to offer a number of players or a single player who also takes the same amount of paycheck to make the trade financially possible. Incidentally, the only player with that pay grade who is still being actively dragged in trade talks is Carmelo Anthony.

According to NJ, the Blazers are expecting at least two first-round draft picks from the Lillard trade. If the draft picks are not possible, the Portland team will reportedly settle to only getting a Superstar caliber player in exchange for their own Superstar.

Judging by the current field of players being dragged in trade talks, only Carmelo Anthony and Paul George are the only suitable trade pieces that the Blazers will probably accept for a Damian Lillard trade to happen. Brook Lopes is also available, however, it is not likely that Blazers will trade for another big man.

Since there are only a few hours left before the trade deadline, fans may just see a blockbuster trade happen at any moment. For now, the Portland Trail Blazers is still considering offers to make the Damian Lillard trade.
